"While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have being."
- Psalm 146:2
From a young age, Naomi loved to sing. She participated in choirs throughout her formative years and studied music at Andrews University. As she traveled overseas and experienced new cultures, Naomi never left music behind.
While in Austria, Naomi became friends with other Seventh-day Adventist musicians. The four singers, violinist, and pianist created the group Surrender. Together they recorded two albums: Surrender and Unseen Blessings. The proceeds from both albums supported mission work through ASI Austria and VIDA Internacional.
After working as a nanny in Germany and receiving mission training in Norway, Naomi made her way to Honduras, where she served in the education and public relations departments for four years at VIDA Internacional. During that time, a singer/songwriter friend sponsored another album, entitled What If I Give All? to raise funds for the ministry. God was clearly developing a connection between music and ministry.
In December 2013, Naomi returned to the United States to join the team at Outpost Centers International in Tennessee. There, in her role as communication director, Naomi recorded Look Among the Lowly in June 2015, which debuted March 19, 2016.
Today Naomi is serving as the assistant girls' dean at Holbrook Indian School in Holbrook, AZ. You won't find her on stage very often anymore, but she sings to her girls nearly every morning.
Whether performing contemporary music from modern Christian songwriters or arias from Johan Sebastian Bach’s most beloved oratorios, Naomi hopes that her voice will only be used to praise the Creator God and draw her listeners towards Him.
